Jim Williams
Board Member
Jim is President of All Points Additive and a nationally recognized leader in advanced manufacturing and additive technologies. With over five decades in the industry, he remains a driving force in AM innovation and strategy.
Before retiring in 2015, Jim served as Vice President of Aerospace and Defense at 3D Systems, where he led DOD R&D, manufacturing programs, and development of advanced additive materials and processes. His expertise spans application engineering, technology maturation (TRL 1–7), and transition to production (MRL 5–9) for flight-qualified AM systems.
Jim began his career in 1966 as an apprentice patternmaker at Paramount Industries, eventually becoming an owner in 1971. Under his leadership, the company became an early adopter of additive manufacturing and was the first in its peer group to earn AS9100 accreditation and a DOD Top Secret clearance. Paramount was acquired by 3D Systems in 2012.
He currently serves on the boards of the Manufacturing Technology Deployment Group (MTDG) and ASTRO America. From 2014 to 2024, he was on the board of the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center (DVIRC), serving as Chairman beginning in 2021. He also founded DVIRC’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) Standing Committee to integrate AM with continuous improvement practices.
Nationally, Jim chaired both the Executive Committee and Governance Board of America Makes and led the America Makes–ANSI Additive Manufacturing Standards Collaborative (AMSC), advancing AM standards and adoption.
